Chuck Meek prepares family businesses for transition. In 2002 he founded Atticus Bailey, a Chicago-based consulting firm to bring middle market family enterprises a new perspective on sustainability across generations. He specializes in comprehensive succession planning that helps smooth the transition of both ownership and management from one generation to the next, and mitigates the angst that too often causes owners and leadership teams to lose sight of their collective potential.
Chuck regularly collaborates with other thought leaders concerned with family business & wealth succession.
He spent several years in industrial sales and marketing at Emerson Electric and learned the best practices of retained executive recruiting at Heidrick and Struggles. In 2002 he included executive search in the Atticus Bailey service offering, focusing on the underserved middle market family owned business and bringing non-family talent onboard to augment and complement the family team.
He still focuses on private middle market companies, and actively collaborates with other trusted advisors who serve business-owning families from complementary perspectives - such as business valuation, strategic planning, financial planning, wealth management, trust/estate planning, private equity M&A, accounting, and others.
